My wife and I LOVE to travel and take photographs of the wonderful creation we live in! If we had more money we would love to travel more and go to places which need help from rich countries like ours in North America.
We are blessed beyond belief. If you have ever travelled to a less developed country such as Mexico, you find this out very quickly.
In 2001, our church took a missions team to Cadereyta, Mexico, not far from Monterrey. The main jobs there are 1) work in the oil refinery if you are lucky and skilled enough, 2)make the old corn brooms or 3) make jerky.
When you go to a former landfill site and see hundreds of homes made of every piece of metal, some blocks, scrap wood and the like and every “yard” comes complete with garbage sticking up through the sand, then you know that we are richly blessed here in Canada and the United States.
I love doing research and getting the best value for my money. I don’t believe in cheating people, but I do believe in getting the most for my money without harming others. It is in that spirit that I am creating this page. We have learned a lot after travelling to:
- 2003 - Alaska by Holland America, the Mississippi River, the badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone NP, Mt. Rainier, Seattle, Olympic Peninsula, Victoria, Vancouver, White Rock, Columbia River Gorge, Great Salt Lake, Rockies and on home to Niagara.
- 2005 - SouthWest USA - Las Vegas, Boulder City, Hoover Dam, Mojave Desert, Williams, Arizona, Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon in Utah, old Beattie, Nevada, Death Valley, Pismo Beach California, Monterrey, Salinas Valley, Tulare, Sequoia and Yosemite NP, San Andreas Fault, old Virginia City, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno Nevada and home.
- 2006 - Fort Lauderdale, Florida and surrounding areas
- 2006 - Israel - with a some time in France because Air France could not find us a flight until the next day. That gave us time to see the Eiffer Tower. On the way home I spotted the brilliant white of the White Cliffs of Dover, England and we flew over probably over 5 miles above them!

I learned a few things that save time, money and stress. I just wanted to share some sites that CAN save you money in travelling with airfares, hotels, and so on. Always compare with better known sites and come back and do it again a few weeks later.
I found that I saved hundreds of dollars by spending some time on lesser known travel engines like some of those below. It’s worth the effort!
ONE EXAMPLE!
April 2009 - My wife and I just got back from a road trip to Florida to visit her friend from her teenage years that she has not seen for many years. I used the links on this site and booked a Microtel in Staunton, VA, which was beautiful for less than $60.
As I was down in the lobby waiting for the free 8 PM FRESH COOKIES, I overheard someone wanting a room for the night. He was quoted over $200. He could have had that room for $140 less by pre-booking through this website.
That is why we book ahead and use Cheap-o-Air and Hotels Combined for our bookings!
