Have you ever been travelling, enjoying the scenery, not meaning to do anything wrong but simply basking in the beauty of nature and suddenly you see flashing red lights in your mirror? And have you had that awful feeling in your stomach when you WERE DRIVING SAFELY but missed seeing an inappropriately placed reduced speed sign?
My wife and I were visiting her long-time-no-see friend of over 40 years in Summerfield Florida. We turned off the main thruways to “enjoy” some of the local food and scenery. We took Hwy 301!
BEWARE OF HWY 301, in Florida! Stay away from it! There are several speed traps there but the worst of the bunch is in Lawtey, a little 4-corner settlement in Bradford County.
In fact I recommend you stay out of Bradford County. Take your business elsewhere. 
Starve those areas of business from outside. They don’t want you there unless it is to pay an exaggerated fine because you were a few miles over the limit.
I do NOT believe in unsafe careless driving ... just the contrary!
My wife and I have driven in many states and have seldom been stopped except in a few places that when researched are noted for SPEED TRAPS!
Bradford County, Florida, Starke, Lawtey and other areas on the 301 are unfairly targetted. Speed reduction signs are placed in inappropriate places around corners or where you may easily miss them so that a thoughtfully-placed “peace? officer” can aim his radar gun and trap you. Knowing you are away from home, they know that in most cases you will not fight it and they can increase their local coffers.
