The Simple Dollar has many tips for saving your money including making your own laundry detergent!.

Use VOIP for your telephoning. Just in case you don't know, it stands for "Voice Over Internet PROtoCOLl" and if it doesn't work you WILL KNOW WHICH PRO-TO-CALL(:-) However you should be aware that it does NOT include standard 9-1-1 calls AND if your internet is off, YOUR PHONE IS OFF!
Great for a SECOND LINE, especially for teenagers! You can sneak down to the computer area, if they are on the phone too much, and pull the plug on the modem!
In Canada, there may be services you are not aware of. The only one I had trouble with when quitting was COMWAVE. Using their service was great, but when I found cheaper, I WAS NOT TOLD to return my adapter or that I would be charged $250 IF I DID NOT! Also, you will have to purchase the adapter in almost all cases. $50 - $100.
I use VONAGE. It has been very good! Have you heard of the Ooma Hub and Ooma Scout?
$19.95 PER MONTH FOR 500 MINUTES - U.S. and CANADA! GET A FREE MONTH WHEN YOU SIGN UP
- Vonage is the one I am using now. If you are a member of various organizations, you can get TWO MONTHS FREE instead of one. CARP [Canadian Association of Retired Persons] allows you the extra free month. I get 500 free long distance minutes for Canada or the U.S. per month. Only $19.95 plus tax.
If you don't know what to buy, phone me at 905-228-2161 or email me at charles@cpedley.com and I will help you! That is PROVIDING YOU DON'T ALL PHONE AT ONCE!
- There are other services as well but all more expensive except for a company out of New York City called ITP4You.com. They actually have English-speaking support staff! I found them very helpful but there were a few kinks because they were just starting up. Since I was using their service for my internet business, I went to Vonage which was more reliable.

Converting Litres Per 100 Km to Miles Per Gallon
|
|
FACTS: For Europeans, fuel consumption is measured in liters per 100 kilometers, whereas Japanese automobile "mileage" is given as "km / l" (which is analogous to the US style of miles per gallon). Notice how the miles per gallon numbers and liters per 100 kilometers in the conversion chart are 'opposite' of each other; as one grows larger the other shrinks.
